The ski season here lasts from mid-December until mid-May and is the longest ski season in Bulgaria. There are 44 snow cannons which help blanket the area with snow. Bansko is situated at a height of 925 m, and the ski area extends to 2600 m. A new cabin lift brings you within about 25 minutes to the top of the slopes of Bansko. These have a length of 65 km and are well-maintained. There are 30 km of blue, 27 km of red and 3 km of black ski runs, and 5 km of cross-country skiing. This area has a total of 14 lifts.
