We are very popular with motor car clubs and enthusiasts being the nearest quality Park to the Car Museum and the Royal Naval Air Station at Yeovilton (3 miles) which houses the famous Fleet Air Arm Museum featuring Concorde and a host of other unique aircraft. With an abundance of National Trust Houses and Gardens in the area, beautiful countryside and quiet lanes for cycling and walking, this is an ideal Park to spend some holiday time in the company of adults only. One-third of the Park is currently under development for luxury Scandinavian Pine Lodge Homes which will be available for sale for private owners to access up to eleven months of the year on a British Holiday and Home Parks Association approved fifty year agreement. We have a twin unit luxury show home sited on the Park which is fully furnished to a very high standard. The development will be small and exclusive and limited to a total of twelve units varying in size and price. This area is separated from the remainder of the Touring Park. The Park also has one Static Holiday Caravan Home to let for short or long breaks and a Black Forest log cabin adapted for wheelchair users as well. The Static Holiday Caravan is fully-equipped, having its own shower, WC and wash-hand basin and fitted kitchen. The Static Holiday Caravan has two bedrooms one with a double bed and one with twin beds. The lounge area also has provision for a further double bed and a single bed. It has gas fired heating. The Black Forest Lodge has access ramps and wide doors for wheelchair users and outside there is a decking area for dining al fresco. The Lodge has a large spacious bedroom with two single beds and a dressing table and fitted wardrobes. It has wider doors to allow wheelchair access. The living area has a fitted kitchen with gas hob, combination microwave oven and grill, fridge/freezer and the seating area adjusts to form a double bed. The bathroom has a spacious roll-in wheelchair users shower with a seat and the usual supporting handrails as well as a transfer bar for the WC and an easily accessible wash-hand basin. The Lodge has been designed and adapted to comply with the latest VisitBritain Access for All Guidelines. There is parking for one car outside of each self-catering unit. The Park is planted with ornamental trees and shrubs with separate, generous touring pitches on hardstandings with lawns at the side for awnings and tents. Long Hazel Park is a level Park and it operates in all weathers. There is easy access to the A303 close by for the largest motorhomes with an easily accessible dump station for bulk waste. The showerblock is winter-heated and is always clean and tidy. There is a separate unisex room for wheelchair users including a roll-in shower with a seat and transfer bar for the WC with supporting handrails. We have extensive tourist information, a payphone, a washing-machine and tumble dryer in our Reception. Showers are free as well as hot water for washing up in the covered dishwashing room. There is also a covered chemical disposal point. We provide picnic tables on our Park which has an abundance of bird life and many rabbits and small wild mammals. The Park is served by a local bus service which connects Sparkford with neighbouring towns and villages, the railway station at Castle Cary (4 miles) and the Royal Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet (7 miles) which hosts many events. We are accessible by public transport from mainland Europe ie Eurotunnel service to Waterloo Station, South West Trains to Yeovil Junction and bus to Sparkford (7 miles) via South West Coaches. We are about an hour's drive from Bristol International Airport which has a daily flight to Newark, New York. For those using the ferry terminals at Poole, Portsmouth, Weymouth, Southampton and Plymouth, these are all a few hours drive from us. Within easy walking distance we have a 16th Century Coaching Inn with restaurant. In the opposite direction a 24 hour Spar Shop and Esso Service Station with cashpoint and Post Office facility. There is also a McDonalds Restaurant on the same complex. Long Hazel Park has become a popular venue with competitors for the Ironman Triathlon held at Sherborne Castle (6 miles) and for pilots, ground crew and enthusiasts visiting the International Air Tattoo at the Royal Naval Air Station, Yeovilton (3 miles). A number of historic vehicle and steam fairs take place annually in the area and we are not averse to putting up the odd vintage lorry, traction engine or classic cars. In the Autumn a number of spectacular illuminated carnivals are held throughout Somerset including Castle Cary (3 miles). Throughout the year we also provide accommodation for characters taking part in the Discworld events at Wincanton (6 miles) and the Pageant at Templecombe (7 miles). Close by at South Cadbury is the historic Ironage Hill Fort at Cadbury Castle (2 miles) reputed to be the site of King Arthur's Camelot. The historic town of Glastonbury with its famous Tor and Abbey ruins (the ancient Avalon) and reputed gravesite of King Arthur and his Queen are a short journey by car. Whilst we are within easily travelling distance of Stonehenge and Longleat House with its Safari Park. We are approximately one hour's drive from the heritage coastline of Dorset or you can catch the train from Castle Cary Station straight to Weymouth Sea Front. There are an abundance of markets, street fairs and car boot sales taking place throughout the region as well as farmers markets offering good local produce. Nearby are cider farms where visitors can sample the produce and see how it is made.
