The self-contained cottage is part of our 17th century traditional moorland farmhouse and offers you clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation from which you can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area.
The cottage, ideal for two, can however sleep up to five people, and consists of a beamed sitting room with a double bed-settee, colour TV and video, and an open coal fire (in season). It has a modern, fully equipped kitchen and dining area, with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, automatic washing machine and ironing facilities. There is a downstairs bathroom with a bath, hand basin, toilet and a shaver point. Upstairs there is one double bedroom and also a zbed. A dropsided cot is available on request. All bedlinen and towels are provided, (except for the cot which has only a mattress provided.)
Outside, we have a pretty, enclosed front garden with a patio area and garden furniture. The cottage is double-glazed throughout and has gas central heating and electric fires. Electricity is by a £1 coin meter, central heating is included in the price but coal is extra. The water supply is from our own underground spring. (Guaranteed chlorine free!)
We are open all year with short breaks available out of season. Sorry, we do not accept any pets. The nearest shops are at the pretty little market town of Helmsley, 8 miles away. A car is essential for access to us as there is very limited public transport in our area. We are situated just a short drive from the main road, and safe parking for your car is available close to the cottage.
Nearest railway stations are at Middlesbrough, York and Malton.
The English Tourism Council has awarded us three stars.
