The nearby town of Baud has 3 supermarkets, including Lidl, all of which stay open at lunchtimes - a rarity in Brittany! There are also banks, a good variety of other shops, doctors, veterinary practices and a small Saturday market.

Situated in the beautiful Blavet Valley, La Metairie was originally a cider farm. Set in lovely grounds of over 3 acres with a small lake and woodlands leading down to a river, the emphasis here is on peace and tranquility. The town of Melrand is 5 minutes by car and offers shops, bars and an excellent restaurant! The historic town of Pontivy is approximately 12kms. Recreational facilities such as golf, cycling, walking and horse-riding are all close at hand. Our on-site treatment room offers holistic therapies carried out by a trained therapist. Each gite is individual and all are tastefully decorated in a unique style. All linen, heating, gas and electricity is included in the price of your holiday and we also offer on-site laundry facilities. Within the grounds there are areas for al-fresco dining and plentiful garden furniture and barbeque equipment. Books, games, CDs and DVDs are also available.

Airports: Rennes 1 hour 45 mins / Brest 2 hours / Dinan 1 hour 50 mins / Lorient 45 minutes.
The use of a car during your holiday is essential.
Distances
The local town of Melrand with bakery, general store, butcher, pharmacy, post office, restaurant, bars and creperie is approximately 5 minutes by car. St Nicholas des Eaux with its lovely canal, waterside restaurants and bars can also be reached within 5 or 6 minutes by car. The large historic town of Pontivy with plentiful shops, restaurants and bars is about 12kms and other historic towns such as Josselin and Auray are easily reached within 45 minutes.

Booking notes
Please contact us by email or telephone so that we can confirm availability, answer any queries you may have and send a booking form. A 50% deposit will be required to secure your booking and the final balance, together with a £100 security deposit, will be required 4 weeks before your arrival. The deposit will be returned within 2 weeks of your departure providing everything is in order.
Changeover day
During mid and high season, the changeover day is Saturday. Arrival will be from 4pm and you should vacate your property by 10am on the day of departure. During low season, flexibility in changeover day may be possible.

Beach
The spectacular river Blavet, as well as numerous large lakes, such as Lac du Guerledan, which have sandy beach shorelines and safe swimming areas, together with picnic facilities are close by. Most of these lakes offer boating/fishing amenities as well as stunning scenic boat trips. There is a canoe/kayak centre, as well as riverboat trips at St Nicolas-des-Eaux about 5 minutes away and the beaches at Carnac, Quiberon and Lorient are about a forty-five minute drive away.

La Metairie is within a small hamlet of 5 houses and away from a main road. The gites are attached to either side of the main farmhouse and are facing an orchard containing apple, plum, cherry and peach trees. The grounds extend to some 3.5 acres and comprise lawns, a small lake, woodlands and a river. The surrounding area is predominantly woodland with views over the valley towards Bieuzy Church. Garden equipment and furniture is plentiful and there is covered parking. This location is ideal for those seeking peace and tranquility.
