Golfing - at St. Thomas and Cap d'Agde golf clubs, only 15 mins. drive , reasonable green fees at 185 Euros for 5 days.
Brocante Fair ( Antiques Market) is set up every Sunday, about 10 mins by car .
Nocturnal Amusement Parks - three in the area
Surrounding Area - Historical towns like Pezenas and Agde, St Guilhem le Desert , and further afield, the Pont due Gard in Nimes and vibrant Montpellier for excellent shopping . Scenic driving routes for whole day explorations and picnics by languid streams or stop by a little cafe for a little serendipity .
Mountains - in the hinterland where it is possible to hike , canoe and explore beautiful old villages like Olagues and St Guilhem le Desert .
Degestations - ( sampling of food and wine ) there are dozens of wine estates ( domains) to vist for local food and wine. Free tastings and legendary farmers' markets in abundance.
Restaurant Crawls - around the Basin du Thau, about 300 resturants, cafes serving excellent fresh fish , shellfish and regional dishes, three course menus from 12 Euros for lunch.
Nightlife and Casinos - in Cap d'agde for all nightbirds, Moule Frite restaurants stay open till the early hours.

Marseillan is a magical small town which retains the spirit of a traditional French village, unspoilt and manageable on foot, a rare find in the Mediterranean. Positioned on the Lagoon, its privileged position has resulted in three Ports ,many harbourside restaurants, cafes and brasseries provide alfresco dining whilst looking at the boats in port. Everywhere you look are the blue waters and boats in the Lagoon and in the surrounding countryside, the greenery of viineyards and pine forest stretch as far as the eye can see.. 26 restaurants,many serving fresh fish and locally farmed oysters and mussels complement a relaxing stay.
The gite is very spacious with its own independent entrance opening to the large Kitchen/Diner framed by a large plateglass window looking out to the lagoon and saling boats. Built and furnished in 2004, all equipment and bedding are of excellent quality, with 100% cotton linen.
Our lounge is well furnished with comfortable settee and loungers and has French doors opening to the pool , sunny terrace and stone barbecue for easy, summer dining. There is a further shower room with toilet for pool use.
Three spacious bedrooms are beautifully appointed. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and French doors opening to the pool and terrace which is fully fenced off.
1 Twin Room with extensive fitted wardrobe and en suite bathroom. Hallway with further built in wardrobe. 2 Double Bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and ensuite shower rooms.
OUTSIDE: With exclusive, private use of a large, south-facing terrace and 8 x 4 fully tiled, concrete pool. New teak table, with large parasol, sun loungers and large stone barbecue complete the furnishings. There is also a covered terrace in one corner. Private gated entrance by remote control and parking for 4 cars.
Just round the corner from our villa is a boulangerie , do try their speciality of delicious hot croissants and bio bread,also some groceries are sold. Here, you will also find a pizzeria and a quaint stall of fresh oysters and mussels.
Everything you could want in a relaxing holiday is just a stone's throw away. Boating, sailing, biking along the lakeside is right on your doorstep. 3kms to sandy, Mediterranea And nightlife in Cap d'Agde and shopping in vibrant Montpellier is second to none. .
Watersports - such as sailing and boating within minutes from the house .There are two sailing schools for all levels here.
Swimming - There are miles of sandy beaches at Marseillan Plage , just 10 mins drive away ( 4 miles ) or a 20 minute bike ride along the Etang de Thau ( salt lake ), a painless ride along scenic flatland with nesting flamingoes and egrets.
River and Canal Cruises - the Canal due Midi starts here at the Etang. There are two sailing schools located in Marseillan.
Tennis Courts -, bookable at the local town hall ( Marie).

25% deposit required to reserve the week. Balance due 8 weeks prior to start date of the holiday. Payment to our French bank in euros, cost of transfer to you is nominal 4 euros which your bank will charge. Payment in Sterling equivalent is possible to British bank, no charges. Internet banking or BACs transfer.
Damage deposit of 150 euros required. Fully refundable if no damage incurred. Payable with your booking. Refunded within 1 week from the end date of holiday.
