A walk down the main street to the famous thermal bath of Luchon takes you past a wide selection of restaurants and bars.
The GR10 footpath runs through the village and the whole area is popular for walking and other outdoor activities.
The 10m x 5m private salt water pool has the latest self-cleaning filter system and is kept crystal clear without the use of chemicals.
From the balcony of the main bedroom there are clear views of the mountains which stay snow capped even in the midst of Summer, despite temperatures at the house reguarly reaching 35'c.
The South facing patio is equipped with sun loungers, tables and chairs, a BBQ and even a table tennis table.
3 double bedrooms and a larger room with 4 single beds mean that the house is intended to sleep up to 10, but additional sleeping space of sofa-beds on mezanine floors, means that larger parties can be accomodated.

Lac D'Oo - a spectacular glacial lake reached by an hours walk from a car park and cafes
Hospice De France - starting point for a three hour walk to Port de Vanesque on the Spanish border
Super-Bagneres - the nearest ski resort reached by a telecabin from Luchon or by a car along a scenic road
Vallee de Lys - picturesque drive with riverside picnic spots and a 40m waterfall at the end
Col de Peyresourde - this pass (often on the route of the Tour de France) is at 1569m and is situated between the two ski resorts of Agudes and Peyragudes
Waterfalls - there is one set ten minutes walk from the house and another "le Jardin des Cascades" in the next village with a popular restaurant
Artigues - The highest village in the valley with fantastic views, and another excellent restaurant
Oueil Vallee - Pretty valley for walking and plenty of picnic spots
Spain - the nearest towns are Bossost, Les and Vielha and offer a change of culture and plenty of opportunities for souvenir shopping (petrol and tobacco are also cheaper here)

THINGS TO DO:-
Summer:
Walking - The GR10 is the coast to coast Pyrenean footpath and passes through Luchon. Details of this and other walks in the area are available from the tourist office.
Luchon boasts a golf course, tennis courts, mini-golf, a climbing wall and a chance to watch pelotte de basque.
A number of companies advertise oppurtunities of a life time to try parapenting off the summit at Super-Bagneres.
Kayaking, Rafting and Canoeing trips on the Garonne are offered by many outdoor activity centres in the valley.
Cycling (two bikes are available at the property) at there are bike rental companies in and around Luchon.
Gliding and light plane flights are available from the Aerodrome de Luchon.
Finally, for the easy way to explore try "le petit train Luchonnais".
Winter:
The main Winter sport is skiing and the nearest resort, is Super-Bagneres, which can be reached from the telecabin out of Luchon town. There are a number of other resorts within easy reach.
Guided skiing and husky rides are offered by adventure companies.
After all that exercise, pamper yourself with a treatment at the Sourcea, and swim in the thermal pool at the adjoining Vitaline centre.
