La Penillere is located 1 km. from Dompierre, 6km. from the medieval town of Domfront and 9 km. from Bagnoles de lâ Orne which boasts many restaurants, sports facilities such as Horse Riding, Golf, Casino and many varied woodland walksand only an hours drive from the Normandy Landing Beaches.

Just 1 hours drive from the channel port of Caen and four hours from Calais makes Le Penillere an ideal holiday location for both summer and winter holidays.

Le Penillere is surrounded by the forest of Andaines National Park which provides many miles of interesting forest and countryside walks directly from the Gites.

The village of Dompierre is 10 minutes walk from the Gites and offers two bars and two restaurants which are opened most days. Other local villages offer post office, hairdressers, bakeries and cafe
Larger shops and supermarkets can be found in Domfront and Flers

If walking is not your favourite pastime La Penillerre is just an hours drive away from the Normandy Landing beaches, other coastal resorts such as Mont St Michel and the Bayeux Tapestry.

We are approx 1 hour from Caen and the ferry service from Portsmouth, 2 hours from Le Havre with its ferry services from Newhaven and Portsmouth, 2 hours from Cherberg with ferries to Poole and 4 hours from Calais

Domfront - 10 mins drive with its old town
Fler - 10 mins drive with excellent markets and Golf
Bagnoles de la Orne - 10 mins drive through the forest - Golf, bars, resturants etc

Changeover day
Change over day is normally Saturday however we will aim to accommadate other days where possible

Golf
Two local Golf Courses both approx 10km distant from the Gites

Fishing
There are fishing facilities within 10Km of the gites

Beach
The nearest beach is an hours drive away

Accessibility
As there are steps leading upto our gites they are not suitable for wheelchairs

Outside
There is a large lawned area with BBQ facilities, table and chairs etc.
