Follow the D562, 25 kms south of Caen to Thury Harcourt. By following the Orne River valley southwards you are in the area known as ‘La Suisse Normande’.
The ‘Suisse Normande’ is a pleasant river valley with some crags and rolling hills alovely area for picnics and the opportunity to watch the multitude of paragliders. Walking, cycling and even canoeing from Pont d’Ouilly are other options.
For those with younger children visit the Enchanted Village at Bellefontaine north of Mortain. Situated in a large parkland it offers a variety of traditional attractions including a miniature railway, electric cars and a quaint fantasy land.

The charming stone Farmhouse with its turret sleeps 10 in three double rooms and two twin bedrooms. The Barn sleeps eight in two double en-suite bedrooms and two twins. The Cider Press is a studio with a mezzanine bedroom ideal for couples wanting peace and privacy.
The buildings are set around a rectangular grassed courtyard with an open sided building for all to share for alfresco eating. A traditional Norman bake house completes the square and is where communal bicycles are stored. The property sits in a two acre garden with an apple orchard at the front of the 'Barn and Cider Press' with a croquet lawn. The private rear garden is well-planted with shrubs and trees and has a pond.

The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room. There are a further two bathrooms, both with baths with showers over. One bathroom has a basin and separate wc the other has twin basins and wc.
All bathrooms are modern with white sanitaryware and power showers.
Kitchen:
The Farmhouse has a fully fitted kitchen with a double sink, large fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher just off the dining room.
The kitchen is well stocked with knives, utensils and other kitchen gadgets.
All kitchenware is designed to match and there are an abundance of glasses, serving dishes, pots and pans for stylish dining.
Living Rooms:
The Farmhouse has a large dining room with open fireplace and dining table which will seat over 12 people.
The large reception is focused around the open fireplace and has two seperate seating areas. One with three sofas centred around a coffee table and the other clustered aroud the TV with English satellite channels and DVD player. The reception has built in drinks cupboard with fridge.
In addition there is a desk filled with games, jigsaws and books and a stereo.

The Barn's interior design is Shaker style and contains handmade furniture, designed by the owners especially for the building and the attention to detail is evident.

Two ensuite shower rooms and a family bathroom with power shower over the bath.
Kitchen:
The Barn's kitchen is open plan to the dining room and has a charming stable door leading to the internal courtyard. Handmade for the building the kitchen is well equipped with Belfast sink, fridge, half sized dishwasher, double oven and gas hob. A second fridge.freezer is located in the boot room.
Living Rooms:
The Barn is half timbered with Norman colombarge and is a true example of a great conversion, with free-flowing reception space.
The reception has two large ultra comfortable sofas, an open fire, desk, card table with chairs, TV with DVD player, stereo, plentiful games, jigsaws and books.
The dining room has a large dining table which can seat 14 and is open plan to the well equipped kitchen.

The Cider Press is a unique and charming building designed for a couple. The original cider press has been incorporated into the design and is the inspiration for the decor, which includes Bisque radiators. The building is open plan with a mezzanine bedroom with double bed, sofa, hanging rail, drawers and desk.

There is a downstairs shower room with white sanitary ware, power shower, basin and wc.
Kitchen:

Cars are essential. Caen - Ouistreham port 14km north east of Caen is 1.15 hrs away, served by Britanny Ferries from Portsmouth. St Malo with its ferry port is 1.5 hrs away and Cherbourg is 2 hrs.
Calais and the Euro Tunnel are approximately a 5 hour drive. Airports within 2 hrs are Rennes, Deauville (Ryanair from Stanstead), Dinard (Ryanair flights from Bristol, Birmingham, London Stanstead and East Midlands) and Cherbourg (Flybe from Southampton).

Beach
Mount St Michel is about 50 minutes from Boudet. Carolles is the nearest beach 70 km away and the charming fishing town Cancale is 107 km from the property. Other recommended beaches are Deauville, Houlgate and Trouville-sur-Mer. Base de Loisirs La Ferte Mace is a 65 hectare leisure base centred around La Ferte Mace large lake which is a great alternative to a beach. It has lifeguards in July and August, a play area, volley ball, peddocs, mini golf etc
