The cottage is very comfortable, and is tastefully decorated to make your holiday more enjoyable. There are 2 bedrooms, a living area and kitchen area. The shower room is large, and easily useable for the less mobile. As you arrive at the cottage, you will be taken aback by the complete lack of noise. This is a holiday where you can completely relax. There are 50 properties in the hamlet, which is just 400 metres back from the beach, with nothing but fields and cows between the hamlet and the sea. The beach is a European class A beach, which has lovely soft sand, and fantastic waves for the surfers amongst you. Along the coast there are many great beaches. The choice is yours. The local village of Surtainville has two small shops which sell most things, and a church. But if you require more comprehensive shopping, then the local town of Les Pieux only 4 miles away has a range of shops and supermarkets in it's high street. If you are looking to get that something special, or the latest Paris fashions, then the city Cherbourg is only 18 miles away.
For those that love history, Normandy is one of the most historic area's in Europe. The D. Day landing beaches are only a short drive away, and the famous Pegesus bridge and the Cafe Gondree are only one and a half hours drive from the cottage. Don't forget William the Conquerer, and his Castle and Abbey's in Caen.
Two hours south is the fabulous Mont St. Michel. Approached via a causeway, the island and views are breathtaking.
Normandy has 50 first class golf courses, which makes it a haven for golfers. More information on golf in Normandy can be found on the internet.
Locally there are some super restaurants which sell a range of meals to suit every taste. And the wine, well, this is France.
You can't go to France without taking the children to Disneyland Paris. To drive takes four hours, and it is advisable to book into one of the cheap local hotels to reduce the amount of driving in one day.
France is a fabulous country, and we are sure you will have a lovely holiday
