Travel
Tours airport is the nearest at 50 kms.
Car hire is strongly recommended.
Distances
Chez Teresa is at the epicentre of the vibrant and friendly village of Fontevraud (14 kms from Saumur) 50 kms from Tours and 60 kms from Angers.
Further details
Fontevraud has a cash dispenser.
The area boasts some very fine restaurants in particular Fontevraud has the Michelin starred, Le Licorne and Tontevraud Abbey has a highly regarded restaurant.
One other thing to point out is that we are happy to cater for vegetarians and those who are on special diets. We in fact eat and serve
fish dishes, but the vegetarian aspect may have appeal for some, though by
the same token we do not want to put others off from staying here!
Fontevraud also boasts a number of fine restaurants, but we do offer evening
meals and have received many compliments about our cooking.

Wine Tasting
Famous for its delicious wines and wine-tasting there are many possible vineyards and 'Caves' to visit near to us. Close by we have Gratien & Meyer and Bouvet Ludaby famous for their fine sparkling wines. Close Cristal (one of a handful of vineyards in France owned by the Health Service) is nearby where the Champigny wines are organic.
Gratien & Meyer host an annual jazz festival in June
Accessibility
Sadly due to the stairs we are not wheelchair accessible. This is of course because the house was built over four floors in 1865 as a home and not as a guesthouse. Chambre Flora is on the first floor and Chambre Rose on the second floor.
Outside
Chambre Flora and the Chez Teresa Dining Room have very small balconies usually filled with pretty flowers.
There is a small garden nearby to the property if guests so desired to sit there.
