Chaente Maritime is famous for the many varieties of goat's cheese produced,shaggy Poitiou donkeys and an amazing variety of birdlife.
Nearby is Cognac where you can tour the many distilleries,large and small and sample the brandy and the local aperetif Pineau.Also at Cognac is the meandering Charente river where river tours can be arranged.
La Rochelle is 45mins drive and is where you can sample delicious seafood at outdoor cafes and wander the narrow streets.There are many good sandy beaches nearby.
Futuroscope-the park of the moving image at Poitiers is approx 1hr drive and makes a great day out.
The cottage is in the small hamlet of La Touche 1.5ks from Dampierre sur Boutonne where there is a bar/restaurant and a renaissance chateau.There are opportunities for fishing and we can arrange fishing licences.
The nearest market town is Aulnay,15mins,with it's colourful Sunday market and pavement bars and restaurants.
The cottage is perfect for 2 persons and we can add a bed for a child and cot.The bedroom is upstairs with shower/toilet room.Downstairs is the sitting and kitchen area with gas cooker,fridge and dining facilities.
We do supply bed linen but ask that you bring your own towels.A washing machine is available for use.
The cottage has it's own entrance and garden with BBQ and garden furniture.
We accept bookings midweek or weekend.
