The many beaches on this coast are fantastic, Mescher, St. George de Didonne, Royan to name but a few. In Royan there are many seafood restaurants & shops, not forgetting sea fishing.
Mortagne Sur Gironde - a superb port with restaurants where you can watch the world go by.
Take one of the many boat trips along the Cote de Beaute or along the river of Saintes.
Zoo at La Palmyre - This is a must, one of the best zoo I have ever been to.
Cognac - Definately a must. Visit the distilleries of Remy Martin (where you visit by train), Martell, Camus & Hennessey.

The accommodation consists of: Well equipped kitchen, shower room, living room which also has a double bed-settee to accommodate an extra 2 people, and 1 double bedroom. This extremely spacious cottage has been renovated with traditional features throughout, exposed stone walls, beams, and an original stone fireplace. It is a very peaceful location for a relaxing stress free holiday.
Swimming Pool 10 mins away. Beaches 20 - 25 mins.
Les Antilles at Jonzac, just 20 mins drive, is an in/outdoor swimming pool complex for adults and children. Also there is a weight room, sauna, jacuzzi and beauty room. I can highly reccommend this.
There are 2 producers of Pineau & Cognac in the village. Fish in the river in the village

Cycling as there are many wild flowers & birds to discover. Golf courses at Saintes, Cognac & Royan.
Moulin de Sap - Just 5 mins drive you can hire pedaloes/boats, there is a bar & restaurant, in the evenings there is entertainment and a B.B.Q.

November to February: Low season - 245 euros per week.

July & August: Peak season - 610 euros per week.

We are situated just 10 minutes from Mirambeau, along the estuary, 1 hour from Bordeaux (where you can park at Lormont & ride on the trams) & 1 hour 15 mins from La Rochelle.
There are airports at Bordeaux & La Rochelle/Rochefort. All are about 75 minutes away. Poitiers is around about 2 hours. You are able to hire a car at these airports although I would strongly advise booking in advance. Once on the motorway (A10) it is a straight forward route to the cottage. You can contact us for directions to the cottage.
If you are taking the ferries.
St. Malo: about 4 to 5 hours drive.
Caen: about 6 to 7 hours drive.
Cherbourg: 8 hours drive.
Calais: 10 hours drive. (Please note these are only rough guidelines.)

In Low & Mid and High seasons, the changeover day is flexible.
Wine Tasting
Wine tasting. Of course, there are all the local Charentaise wines to try & buy or we are just 10 mins away is the department of the Gironde where you can try & buy the Bordeaux or Cotes de Blaye wines not to mention the organic wines aswell.
