There are lots of sandy beaches to choose from, the closest is literally less than 100m from the apartment. (This beach is only available at low tide. The aerial view photo was taken at high tide - see owners website for photos of beaches at various tide levels). It is ideally situated for fishing or golfing holidays and for exploring the many tourist attractions in Charente-Maritime.
The apartmnent is situated ½ mile from Plage de la Grande Cate with its pine forests and sand dunes. There are lots of wondeful walks and cycle paths through the woods. Several seasonal shops are within 100m including fresh local seafood take-away and a snack take-awy which are just across the road!. There are lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance.. St Palais town centre with its daily market is just over a mile away and there is a scenic coastal path wich goes from opposite the apartment to the town.
Accommodation comprises a lobby with full size two bunk beds, a double bedroom, bathroom, separate wc, lounge/diner (with sofa-bed), kitchenette (new 2005) and large (17 sq.m.) sunny SW facing terrace. The sea view is breath-taking. A retractable awning provides shade and added privacy for sun bathing or eating al fresco. There is reserved parking to the rear.
Opposite is the coastal path and a popular fishing stretch (deep sea trips can be organised at the hotel next door). Royan Golf Course & Equestrian Centre is 800m away. Nearby are Sailing & Wind Surfing schools. One of France's finest zoos is at La Palmyre (5km). The St Palais park is within walking distance and provides tennis, boating and mini-golf. Royan Golf Course & Equestrian Centre is 800m away.
