The house is set apart from the road down a quiet lane and is accessed through a private gate leading into a lovely, south facing, walled garden with mature fruit trees and vines. The walled garden offers a high degree of privacy, plenty of sunshine as well as pleasant shady areas.

The village itself is a small, traditional Charente village. It has no major road travelling through it which makes it exceptionally peaceful and safe for walkers and cyclists, yet it is no more than 10 kms from the A10 motorway and 15 kms from the TGV station at Surgeres (2hr 30mns from Paris by train). Ligueuil has no shops or cafes, but it is possible to cycle to a neighouring village where a small epicerie, a chemist and a butcher can be found.
The nearest shopping centres are in the market town of St Jean - Angely which is 11 kms away and Surgeres, another very pretty market town, which is 14 kms away. Both have excellent local markets once week.
