10 km south of La Rochelle, facing the islands of Ré, Aix and Oléron, and the famous Fort Boyard, our house is ideally situated 130 yards from a one-mile long safe sandy beach on the Atlantic Coast and just 110 yards from the market street of the bustling seaside town of Châtelaillon-plage (baker, charcutier, pâtissier, newsagent, pharmacy, etc). Covered market every day, street market twice a week. Vast choice of restaurants.
The large harbour town of La Rochelle is approximately 6.5 miles (10km) away. The beautiful islands of Ré and Oléron, as well as Fort Boyard, are visible from the beach. You may also choose to spend a day in the smaller but lovely, no-car ïle d\\\'Aix, walking or cycling from a beach to another.
Le Marais Poitevin is about one-hour\\\'s drive away.
Cognac is at the same distance.

You will be 150 m from the 2-km, family-friendly beach (shallow water, pro guards), and the same distance from the shops (all+ minimarket) and covered market (open daily, street market twice a week).

The beach ( fine sand) is 3 km long, approximately 100 m wide. Very safe (very progressive slope, no currents, guarded). There is a pool on it for young learners, volley-ball grounds, free showers.
