Hyeres is one of the loveliest towns on the cote d'Azur, with long palm-lined streets of elegant Victorian villas (a reminder of the fact that Hyeres was the first town on the Cote to be discovered by the English in the nineteenth century), the town became a coveted Riviera Winter holiday haunt for British and French aristocrats and celebrities.
