Further afield there is the Grand Canyon du Verdon (about 2 hours away by car). A massive river gorge which is quite awe inspiring and where you can hire pedalos and venture into it on the beautiful blue water. There is Aix en Provence, around which Cezanne did much of his painting of the Mont St Victoire. Nice and Cannes are also within easy driving distanceThe Grand Canyon du VerdonThe list is endless.
