The Haute Savoie stretches south from the shores of Lake Geneva to the Italian border and some of the best known ski resorts are to be found here; Chamonix, Megeve, Flaine and Morzine among them, scattered among the high peaks that make up much of the impressive scenery. The Grand Massif itself is the fourth largest ski area in France with 265 km of pistes to enjoy. At its centre is Flaine 1600; purpose built, the sixties Bauhaus architecture is now softened by new developments and currently the focus for extensive new investment and improved infrastructure. Circling Flaine the villages of Sixt, Samoens, Morillon and Les Carroz nestle into the lower slopes, each with their own special characteristics.

With glorious views and surrounded by mountain peaks Samoens lies at the heart of the valley, a very pretty small town and the only ski resort awarded 'Coq d'Or' and classified as an historic monument. Proud of its’ history and traditions, stone masons, farmers, woodmen, cheese makers and wine producers still flourish here and the streets and nearby slopes are scattered with traditional working farms and artisan workshops set amongst the chalets. The Giffre valley winds up past Samoëns to Sixt, where it comes to a halt facing the rugged circle of glaciers that make up the Fer à Cheval. From here, mountain and cross county trails lead into the National Park.

Chalet Brio is in a quiet location looking down on to the small hamlet of L'Etelley and beyond towards Mount Criou. Close by are 3 ski lifts which will take you up the the Grand Massif winter ski area. Or for the summer we have a swimming pool or you could use our bikes to explore the Giffre Valley.

This is ideal when you all want to stay together, but appreciate some separate space.

3 ski lifts all with in a 2 minute drive or bus ride. Either lift will take you up to the vast Grand Massif ski area

Wine Tasting
There a all the local Savoie wines, further we are an hours drive from the key Rhone Valley vinyards

Accessibility
Chalet Brio has a quiet and private apartment, La Terrasse, on the ground floor. Wide access doors, (900mm wide) open plan living area, easy access to the master bedroom and a wet room shower area make this suitabe for wheel chair access.

Outside
Chalet Brio has an expance of private garden including a patio area, a relaxing area around a private 5 x 10 mtr heated swimming pool. There is a barbecue garden furniture etc.
