As we are only a stone throw away from the Ancient City of Aptera, we highly recommend a visit to the archaeological site. Leaving your accommodation and going east, within a minute you reach the first signs of the fortifications of the ancient city to welcome you and to provide you with a small glimpse of the scale and the importance of Ancient Aptera.

As short walk (downhill) to the west of Aptera Lodge, you'll find three local tavernas and a small mini market. On certain days during the summer there is live Greek music in the centre of the village where the three taverns are, and occasionally a local art exhibition.
