THE CINQUE TERRE
The Cinque Terre (Five Lands) is a string of 5 fishing villages perched high on the Italian Riviera which is a must for visitors to see.
ORECCHIELLA (NATIONAL PARK) An easy walk from the Visitor Center leads one to the Botanical Garden, which highlights the Orecchiella's floral diversity. A series of trials heads from here to the summit of Pania al Corfino, a dramatic limestone peak that dominates the Serchio Valley. At over 1600m the Pania is one of the highest peaks in Tuscany, affording climbers panoramic views of the Serchio river valley and the entire majestic Apuane Alps range.
The Orecchiella Park has a variety of rare flora, due to the fact that it is something of an alpine island within a warmer region. In addition it boasts an array of special fauna, including royal eagles, royal owls, hawks, deer and more recently introduced rams and wolves.
APUAN (NATIONAL PARK)
These marble mountains are a jewel, protected by this regional National Park, making them an ideal destination for nature lovers. This extraordinary Alpine landscape on the sea encloses an incredible variety of rare flowers and plants. The mountainsides, numerous Karst Caves and deep Caverns of the Apuan Alps attract many speleology and mountain-climbing enthusiasts. Within the park, it is also possible to go on beautiful walking or horse riding tours.
Many interesting varied towns and castles are all within easy reach.

Fontana Vecchia Sleeps 7 in total, having two separate apartments, or may be rented as one complete house. Apartment No.1. sleeping 2 persons, and apartment No.2. sleeps 5 persons. The house has 4 bedrooms, with an additional sofa bed in the snug sitting area if required. 2 shower rooms with all facilities plus 1 bedroom en-suite.

Fontana Vecchia is rented as self catering. The perfect base for touring, cycling/walking groups or just relaxing in this beautiful region of Tuscany.

Very comfortable king size bedroom fitted with suitable period furnishings for this old stone built house. Double veranda door opening onto large terrace with magnificent views of mountain ranges with the valley below. Table and chairs are kept on veranda for morning breakfast or coffee at ones leisure if required.
A further double sofa bed is also available in the snug/reading area of the apartment should it be required.
All bedding/linen/towels cleaned on a weekly basis.

This consists of one large spacious room with a well-equipped kitchen area and island in one corner. The kitchen includes microwave, fridge, freezer, oven and gas hob along with ample oak kitchen storage units.

There is a large oak dinning table together with eight chairs and other traditional furniture. From this area there are arched double doors leading onto the private terrace, which is equipped with additional table and chairs together with sun lounges provided.

All linen and towels are provided in the price.
The whole apartment is cleaned and bedding etc. changed once a week by housekeeper.

Twin Bedroom containing two single beds each with their own chest of drawers and bedside lamps. Window overlooking the mountains with valley pasture below.
Single Bedroom being a smaller but charming bedroom as it is south facing, has bedside table, chest of draws, single bedroom chair. Window overlooks arched pathways through the village and bell tower.

Shower Room this has also been newly installed containing w.c. Overhead shower with glass door, washbasin with vanity unit, towel rails.
Kitchen:
Kitchen area newly fitted kitchen has been provided containing electric oven, gas hob, ceramic kitchen sink with mixer tap, marble work surfaces, fridge, extractor fan unit, microwave. All kitchen pots and pans, bake ware, kitchen utensils, soap, dishcloths, tea towels, cleaning utensils, Ironing board, iron, clothesline and pegs are all provided at no extra costs to our guests.
Living Rooms:
The living room has a traditional Tuscan built fireplace with wood burning stove. Furnished to a high standard with comfortable homely furniture. Twin sofas, sideboard, satellite TV, music centre, radio, coffee table, side table with soft lighting. Reading material, and games are also provided for our guests.
Dining area having extending oak table seating for 5 to 6 persons. New china, glass and cutlery, place mats and napkins are also provided.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service:
All linen/towels etc. laundered on a weekly basis. The whole apartment is clean once per week by the housekeeper.
Sleeping capacity:
1 double room with king size bed with en-suite. 1 twin bedroom with 2 single beds. 1 single bedroom with single bed.
Notes on accommodation: We have had many children accompanied by their parents staying in both apartments, however on the first floor apartment there is an open stair case, therefore parents on young children are responsible to be made aware of this danger.
