Travel
40 minutes from Faro airport. Car essential. Owner can recommend car hire company based at airport. If you want to go out for the night in one of the main resorts and get taxi back, owner offers to take you to collect your car the following morning.
Distances
10 minutes drive through beautiful countryside to the historic town of Silves with it's cathedral and Moorish castle. 10 minutes drive to Portimao which is excellent for shopping and finding bargains and souvenirs. 20 minutes drive to the town of Monchique nestled in the mountains and Caldas De Monchique which is famed for it's fonts and natural spring water. The property is a 5 minutes drive from the main Algarve motorway, so most resorts are within a half hours drive away.
Further details
Supermarkets, banks and all facilities are available in the local towns a 10 minute drive away. Odelouca is a conservation area and is ideal for bird watchers and walkers. There are 3 bars and 1 restaurant within walking distance and many other bars & restaurants on the way up to the Monchique mountains a 15-20 minute drive away. The nearest golf course is a 5 minute drive.
Booking notes
20% deposit required. The balance to be paid 8 weeks before arrival. A £200 returnable breakage bond is required (not for 1 bedroom option). Exclusive rental i.e. no other families are renting at the same time as your rental.
Changeover day
Saturdays only during July, August. Changeover day is flexible during other times of the year.
Golf
5 min drive to nearest golf course Morgado Do Reguendo. 15 min drive to the new Silves Pestana golf course. Many other golf courses within a 20-30 min drive.
Beach
10 minutes drive to Praia Da Rocha and Portimao (approx. 6km). Most coastal resorts eg. Albufeira, Armacao De Pera, Alvor, Carvoeiro are within a 20-30 min drive from the property.
Accessibility
The property is spread out over one ground-floor level, making it suitable for the elderly or infirm. Unfortunately the design e.g. showers means it is not suitable for wheelchairs. The swimming pool has Roman bay steps allowing easier access to and from the water. All beds are comfortable with orthopedic bases and mattresses.
Outside
Large private heat-retaining chlorine swimming pool 9.2m x 4.7m. Depth 1.2m to 1.8m. Roman Bay steps facilitate easy access to the pool water. Newly laid sunbathing patio area adjacent to the pool. Barbecues, tables and chairs on terraces surrounding villa. Large garden overlooking orange growing valley and surrounding countryside. There is a large vineyard to the rear and one side of the property and there is agricultural land on the other side.
