The home is located in the very centre of Portugal in a small mountain side village with stunning views, making an ideal point to explore the whole country or just to potter locally. Lisbon and Porto airports are approximately one and a half hours by train from the local station, 20 minutes away, thereby making daytrips easy. The trains are great and very inexpensive. Also 60 mins drive to the Silver Coast.

The main house has high white beamed wooden ceilings in the main living area. There is one large and one small double bedroom. The bathroom in the house has double sinks, shower and bath along with a bidet and toilet. There are exposed stone walls, quarry tiled floors and a farmhouse styled kitchen area with a large traditional fireplace with woodburner. The conservatory/sunroom has a dining table to seat 6 along with cane furniture.
The standard of finish throughout is higher than we have seen in other restored houses in Portugal.

The annexe is complimented by it's high ceilings with white beams and walls, large chimney and woodburner, tiled floors, louvered blinds and small kitchen. There is a double bed in the loft area, accessed by a safe ladder, along with a double sofa bed in the ground floor living area. A shower room/toilet is adjoining.

The smaller annexe is ideal for teenagers and older children with a double bed on top of a breadmaking oven to give it the character and charm it deserves.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service: All linen provided, changed weekly or on request, maid service weekly or as requested.

Travel
Lisbon and Porto airports aprox 190km, one an half to two hours drive. Railway/local station 20mins. Pombal. We are able to collect you either from the airports or local rail station.

Distances
The historic city of Tomar which is a world heritage site is only 30 minutes away. You can also find the University city of Coimbra 40 minutes away, plus the medieval walled town of Óbidos is within easy reach. Conimbriga is where the Roman ruins are located,15 mins away, for those who enjoy a day of exploration. Figueiro dos Vinhos is the administrative centre for the area. Located in a low mountained and forested area with miles and miles of off road tracks ideal for walking. (4x4s, quads and mountain bikes are available for hire) . Large rivers abound, offering kayaks and canoes for hire. There are lots of places to swim in rivers and mountain rock pools. Rock-climbing is also available to those who are more daring.
