The village boasts two beaches and a small tidal harbour just a few hundred yards from the cottage.
There are two pubs, a well stocked shop,a post office and doctors surgery.
Anchor cottage was built in 1810 and was once part of a large village house,now three cottages.
It has a large double room upstairs. Downstairs is a twin bedded room overlooking the back garden.The property has a downstairs bathroom with shower.
The kitchen has built in electric oven & hob , fridge,
microwave and small breakfast table.
The living room has a lovely open coal fire ,colour tv,video and dining area.
A bright sunny conservatory overlooks the rear garden.
The port town of Stranraer is approx 17 miles away,from where you can take a ferry trip to Ireland to visit the famous Giant`s Causeway and Whisky distilleries.
There are many beautiful beaches in the area and lots of places to walk.
The busier harbour village of Portpatrick a few miles away is the start of the `Southern Upland Way` . There are also some nice eating places here.
The area generally has nice gardens to visit and have afternoon tea also a choice of golf courses and is renowned for very good sea and beach fishing.
If you like to get away from the hustle & bustle and like peace and quiet theen Galloway is worth a visit.

cottage , it is also a non smoking property.
The weekly tariff includes bed linen and heating if required which is electric storage heating.
Other electric is by £1 coin meter.
