Kingussie is located just off the A9 and is an ideal base for a Highland holiday, offering many leisure pursuits including Walking, Riding, Water Sports, Bird Watching, Fishing, Hunting, Climbing and Golf. The Golf course at Kingussie is set in a beautiful Glen amidst the Monadhliath Mountains. For the winter sports enthusiast Aviemore is only 12 miles away where the funicular railway will take you to your skiing destination in the Cairngorm Mountains.
Close by is Ruthven Barracks last occupied by the Jacobites in the 1700's om their way to Culloden. You can experience life in the past at the famous Highland Folk Museum and visit the Highland Wildlife Park where animals native to Scotland can be seen in their natural habitat.
The arrrea abounds with castles and distilleries and after a dram or two (or maybe a bottle) you might even see the famous Loch Ness Monster.
The scenery is spectacular and in spring is a riot of colour with primroses, anemones and violets abounding. The purples of the heather can be seen in abundance in July and August and in the Autumn fungi of every descrption can be found. Wildlife is second to none and you are sure to see the Monarch of the Glen on your travels.
