For those on the go, the selection of nearby activities is endless...hiking, biking, hunting, golfing, skiing, climbing, rafting and much more. You can even swim and fish in one of our stocked private fresh water ponds.

LTD Vacation Property Group owns a total of 93 acres within the 550 acre private community, known as Mt. Lake Retreat, in Rough Run, WV. Our property is located on the eastern side of the Allegheny Mountains in the Potomac Highlands. In a private “hollow”, within our 93 acres, there are two stocked ponds for the exclusive use of our guests. Our ponds have become a favorite watering hole for local wildlife and have been stocked with native bass, bluegill and catfish. Both ponds have decks and are the perfect place for kids to fish, play and explore, while adults can relax in a quiet setting. Marked hiking trails lead from the vacation rental cabins down to the pond “hollow”. The ponds are also accessible by car for those that would rather drive. Adjacent to our property is a 50 acre stocked lake within the South Mill Creek Lake County Park. Boating and fishing are permitted and a wilderness hiking trail runs around the lake.

From Washington DC: Proceed on I-66 West to I-81 South to exit #296, Rt. 55 West towards Wardensville, WV. Pass through Wardensville and take “new Rt. 55” (Corridor H) towards Moorefield. From Moorefield, take Rt. 220 South towards Petersburg. After passing through Petersburg and crossing the railroad tracks, make the first left onto County Road #9/South Mill Creek Road. Follow South Mill Creek Road for approximately 12 miles to Wildernest Inn entrance on your left. The entrance to Mountain Lake Retreat is about 1 mile further on your right.
