Architect designed in the late 1970’s, the unique building reflects the area’s heritage, landscape and bush. Rough sawn boards and bush poles combine with the retreat’s luxurious fittings, furniture and fabrics to create an ambience that is rustic yet modern and very grounding.
The 50 acre property combines homestead, horse pastures and bush - home to over 80 species of native birds, as well as koalas and other native wildlife.

Bathrooms:
The en-suite bathroom has a shower, toilet and hand basin. Complimentary hand-made soaps and organic shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are provided.
Kitchen:
The elegant kitchenette is fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, toaster, fridge, home made treats, and all of the crockery, glassware and cutlery you will need. The indoor dining area is perfect for intimate and romantic dinners.
Living Rooms:
Every feature of the suite is designed for your complete comfort and relaxation. The living area is complete with comfortable couch, fine carpets and extra floor cushions, CD player and selection of music, plus a small library. A wood fire keeps Maleny’s chilly mountain nights at bay while overhead fans cool sultry summer nights.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service:
Bath sheets are supplied for both the bathroom and spa. Fine quality bed linen is included as are bath robes. The suite is thoroughly cleaned after every guest departure and during stays (if more than 3 nights) if our guests desire. Most of our guests want a "retreat" - they are happy to keep "their own" suite clean. Bed linen and towels are changed on request of guests for stays longer than 3 nights.
Notes on accommodation: All rates include a cheese platter with a bottle of wine or champagne on arrival. Your continental breakfast provisions include a loaf of hot fresh bread delivered to the gazebo at your nominated time.
BBQ platters are available although you are welcome to bring your own ingredients for BBQ feasts.
Massages and facials in your suite can be arranged - just ask us.

Maleny really is the "heart of the Hinterland" - with all of the amenities for daily living such as banks, post office and the best supermarket this side of Brisbane. But it is also a great place for browsing and shopping with an eclectic mix of restaurants, bookshops, its own fromagerie and award-winning icecreams, galleries and arts and crafts shops. There is even a dedicated lolly shops to satisfy the sweet-tooths.
The other Hinterland towns or Montville, Falxton and Mapleton offer their own brand of shopping and attractions. A scenic drive to Kenilworth in the Mary Valley takes visitors into the less seen side of the Sunshine Coast - it's country towns with their own brand of cafes, galleries and other attractions.
The whole area is a great destination for those with a penchant for natural beauty - offering bushwalking in the many National Parks and forests, canoeing and sailing on Lake Baroon, as well as numerous picnic sites and lookouts.

The Sunshine Coast is renowned for its beaches - only a 40 minute drive from Bamboo Retreat. Spend the day in the sun wherever takes your fancy - from the long open surf beaches south of Point Cartwright to the famous beaches of Noosa. Many beaches have patrolled swimming areas for your safety, and when the wind is right, the surfing is great.

Outside
The suite enjoys a view over your own private garden complete with
'hot tub' spa under the stars, gazebo, BBQ and outdoor dining setting. We invite you to enjoy the bush walks and native wildlife at your doorstep. However, we request that you kindly treat them with respect and leave only your footprints.
