Nassfeld is a must for both summer and winter sports enthusiasts alike. It has the largest and most versatile skiing area in the sunny south of Austria, with 30 high-tech cable cars and lifts, 110 km of snow-certain pistes for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Add to that the 25 ski huts and mountain restaurants – who could ask for more!
There is a free, regular ski shuttle bus, which stops just 200 metres from our chalet, taking you, within minutes, to the gateway of The Millennium Express, where you can purchase your ski pass. However, as a special service to our guests, Spencer will escort guests on the first day, to arrange lift passes, ski equipment, lessons etc, or we can pre-book your ski pack. Please ask for details. The Top-Ski Carinthia ski pass allows you to ski all over Carinthia and East Tyrol, for the validity of your pass.
The longest run, is the renown Carnia run, from an altitude of 1822m, and a piste run of 7.6 km, right into the valley of Tröpolach – the perfect end to the perfect days skiing!
There are many other winter activities in this area, including 2 good cross-country trails of medium difficulty, Nordic walking trails, toboggan runs, a curling rink and winter horse riding. Cross country skiing, ice skating, speed skating, ice golf and ice hockey.

As Chalet Kammleitn is just off the B111 road, you have easy access to all these activities, and only a 5 minute drive from the beautiful town of Hermagor, where you will find banks, post office, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars.
Chalet Kammleitn has been newly renovated, and offers our guests a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All bedrooms are equipped with en-suite facilities. We have a selection of twin, triple and quad rooms, most with balcony and having the fantastic views of the Italian Carnic Alps, and the Nassfeld slopes.
Our facilities include a New, Well-Stocked Bar, a Games Room, Large Spacious Dining Room with Hand-Carved Ceiling, New TV Lounge with Traditional Austrian Log Fire, Flat-Screened TV and DVD player, and a Ski/Bike Room with heated ski boot warmers, for all of your sports equipment.

There can be few places where one's host and hostess would give one a warmer welcome than the one our group received from you both at 2.0 a.m.! You were still smiling, too, when we left five days later at 5.45 a.m. Nothing was too much trouble for you. A comment made by one of my colleagues when we spent a night mid-week in Vienna summed up our feelings. He said that we'd be 'going back home tomorrow' meaning back to Kammleitn! You did indeed make your home feel like a second one for us. The only trouble was that we didn't have long enough to explore the beautiful surrounding area. We shall just have to try to rectify that! All the best.

Thanks again for your fantastic hospitality! The chalet was sparkling, new and spacious, the food delicious and plentiful and every other possible need taken care of. The games room was a fantastic added bonus!
It was the most relaxing ski holiday ever.

Afternoon Tea - Freshly-made cakes, tea, coffee, hot chocolate or Gluhwein. 3-Course Evening Meal plus salad buffet, wine served with meal, freshly-brewed coffee to follow.

Travel
The nearest main train station to Chalet Kammleitn is Villach Hauptbahnhof. A good train system operates to Villach from many cities, such as Salzburg, Klagenfurt, Ljubljana, Venice, Trieste etc. Then a limited train service operates from Villach to Watschig, bringing you to within 100 metres of Chalet Kammleitn (be warned, this is the scenic route and can sometimes take quite a long time, for what would be a 35 minute car journey!) Alternatively, we can arrange a taxi to collect you at Villach train station - please enquire with us on prices.
We also have a price list on bus travel from Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Ljubljana Airports. Please ask for further details.
