The tiny village Cund in Transilvania is located in the centre of the Carpathian Mountains close to the the mediaeval town of Sigisoara, the alleged birthplace of the legendary Count Dracula.
The village is still strongly influenced by the traditions and customs of the Saxon community, that populated this area for the last 750 years.
Authentic and cordial family traditions and customs characterise the simple life of the local population of which most are self sufficient farmers who warmly welcome visitors.
The overwhelming beauty and peaceful tranquillity of the natural surroundings allow room for consideration - without any distracting influences - and are the perfect setting for a holiday where you can relax all your senses. As soon as you leave the village you will find many tracks and open land you may freely walk on four hours without meeting a single person... Cund is also an ideal base for exploring the many attractive old towns and cities in Transilvania. Within a radius of 100 km you can visit the old saxon towns of Sibiu (European Cultural Capital 2007), Sighisoara, Biertan, Medias, Brasov, Bistritza, Agnita, Foggerasch, Regin and Tirgu Mures.

We have carefully restored two connecting farmhouses and from May 2009 those will provide accommodation for up to 13 persons in five flats and apartments.
We have already completed four apartments and our small restaurant at the back of this complex (which will officially open in March 2009) offering our guests a selection freshly prepared meals. The Guesthouse is offering accommodation in 5 small apartments for two to three persons, all with their own bathroom. All apartments posses their very own special charm and all furniture has been handcrafted in our joinery by our master craftsmen. We have paid special attention to retaining the original character whilst we made sure to offer all modern comforts in the newly built bathrooms and good reading lights and comfortable chairs & sofas!

Those prices include all extras (electricity, wood for the fireplaces etc.).

When entering the apartment you find yourself in a room furnished with a traditional alcove bed set in a hand-painted cupboard with Saxon motives taking up one whole wall, a cast-iron wood burning stove and a large coffee-table and a small kitchenette with a sink and a kettle & coffee machine. The alcove bed doubles as a comfortable sofa with spots in its ceiling providing good reading light. Furthermore you will find a wardrobe with a mirror to your right and an armchair to your left with a reading lamp. On your left you enter your spacious bedroom furnished with a double bed with two bedside tables, wardrobe, an armchair with a coffee-table and lots of good reading lights.
Bathrooms:
In the bathroom you find a large shower, a toilet and washing-table with a large mirror and good lighting as well as many hangers & rails.
Kitchen:
At our small and cosy restaurant you are always welcome to enjoy a selection of freshly prepared meals or just relax with a glass of excellent wine or some local spirits after your meal in front of the large open fireplace in the restaurant itself, or enjoy the sunset out in the large garden or on the shady terraces!
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service:
Towels and linen are provided and changed weekly or upon request!

This beautiful apartment is accessed through a door leading of your large roofed terrace on which you will find comfortable chairs and tables to enjoy the sunshine or shade. The whole Apartment is has a very authentic charm with many old photographs and books making you feel 'at home'....
