All self catering prices are in euros per week, & NOT per person & are based on high season 1 April – 30 September. Low season is 1 October - 31 March excluding Christmas, Easter & New Year. Breakfasts, 2 & 3 course evening meals are available as optional extras. Christmas/Easter specials inc traditional 5 course meal. Pampaneria - This cottage style studio apartment has two single beds.
Bathrooms: Both have En-suite bathroom with wc, sink and glass shower cubicle.
Kitchen: Both have kitchen areas whish are well equipped with fridge, hob and dining table.
Living Rooms: These cottage style studio apartments are full of rustic charm, features include chestnut beams, terracotta tiled floors, traditional hand made wooden doors,
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid Service: Bedlinen, towels and tea towels are provided, beach and pool towels can be hired.
Sleeping capacity: One cottage has a double bed the other has 2 single beds

Notes on accommodation:
After a warm welcome, relax after your journey by the pool with a glass or 2 of our local wine, enjoy the views, & plan your stay. We have maps & ref books available for your use. All the accommodation is suitable for single people, couples & families. The owners live nearby so are always available to help and assist whenever required, but rest assured we would always respect your privacy.
We love our food at Cortijo las Chumbas & aim to use home grown or locally produced organic produce where possible, we provide 2 or 3 course evening meals freshly prepared on the day which include 2 scrumptious deserts per person all served with local wine,beer,tea or coffee, together with brandy,whisky or a selection of liquors & choclotes. Meals are served in our warm & welcoming dining room.

Granada and Almeria airports are only 1 1/2 hour away. Malaga airport is only 2 1/2 hours away. Car hire is recommended but if you are unable to drive or do not wish to hire a car we can arrange airport pickups.

Almeria 75 minutes.
Malaga 135 minutes.
Orgiva 40 minutes.
Albondon 15 minutes.
Costa Tropical and the Mediterranean Sea 35 minutes.
Cabo de Gata nature reserve is only 80 minutes.
Local town of Cadiar is only 20 minutes.

Further details
Although we are in a rural and tranquil location we are only 10 minutes from the main A345 which connects La Rabita on the Mediterranean coast to Cadiar in the Alpujarras which then gives you easy access to all the Alpujarran white washed villages, and also Granada, Malaga and Almeria.

The delightful mountain villages of Albondon and Murtas are close by together with Cadiar, the gateway to the Alpujarras which is only 20 minutes away, with its numerous shops, including bakers, butchers, banks, medical center, chemist, supermarkets and a good selection of bars and restaurants. For more vibrant shopping, Motril, Granada and Roquetas de Mar are not far away.

In order to reserve your holiday or if you have any questions or requirements regarding the accommodation, please feel free to contact Belinda. Normally a deposit of 30% will be required at time of booking, (the balance is payable in euros at time of arrival) but if the booking is close to the departure date full payment in euros will be required on arrival.

Winter skiing and snow boarding at Solynieve Granada also cross country skiing and sledging at Puerta de la Ragua are within 1 1/2 hours.

The Sierra de la Contraviesa, is famous for it's organic wine production, these award winning wines can often be found in the top restaurants throughout Spain, Europe and America.

Both cottage style studio apartments open out onto a shaded sun terrace with stunning views of open countryside. We are centrally situated for exploring the Alpujarras and the Sierra Nevada National Park. We have great walks right on our doorstep with breath taking scenery, here you can experience the raw beauty of the true Alpujarras or if you prefer just sit, relax and enjoy the incrediable crystal clear star filled night sky.

There are BBQ facilities, shaded sun terraces with wooden outdoor furniture and courtyard with swimming pool (for our guest use only) sun loungers and shaded seating area.

We also offer mountain bike hire, archery lessons, plus a boules pitch which is great fun on a summers evening.

The Sierra de la Contraviesa is famous for it's wine production, Vinos de la Tierra, achieving many awards throughout Spain. The 2 vineyards Barranco Oscuro & Finca Cuatro Vientos surround our accommodation at Cortijo las Chumbas and both offer wine tasting and vineyard tours for our guests.
