We have mountain bikes for rent and you can borrow our fishing rods. We also book tours in canoe, jeep safari, guided hiking tours or excursions to Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba and Malaga.
We, your hosts, have many years of experience as tour guides in Spain and we love to share all we know to make your stay as exciting as possible.
We would like to remind you that we are in rural Andalucia and the seasons change here, therefore, we recommend you to bring some warm clothing outside the months of May to September. Roads, water and electricity supplies are not always as reliable as in the towns or other places in Europe, but we find it quiet charming and hope you do as well!
The small white villages nearby offers both idyllic village life and the perfect scenery for going sightseeing. But no sightseeing is completed before you have experienced the local food and their beverages.
In the countryside you will find lots of signs which says 'Ventas' it does not mean that the place is for sale (as well 'Venta') but it means a tavern or a pub and it is a very popular restaurant especially among the Spanish people. During the weekend, the Spanish families go to the countryside to eat there lunch on a 'Venta'. The most popular dishes are game; deer, rabbits and pheasant. Around the lake you will find some of those 'Ventas', and it is important to be on schedule to get a table during the weekend where lunch is served between 1.30 and 4.30 pm and the restaurant life is buzzing.
Booking notes
The prices are for one week accomodation for 2 persons in a studio with private kitchen and bath, towels and bedding. Full use of the finca's facilities and a welcome packet. Cleaning upon departure is an additional charge of 35 euros.
When ordering, a deposit of 20% of the whole amount is to be paid, the balance is paid upon arrival.
Changeover day
Changeover is flexible - depending on your flights. Check in - apartment available from 4pm on arrival day. Check out - apartment available until 12pm on departure day.

Fishing
Pantano el Chorro -
Embalse del Guadalteba and Embalse del Guadalhorce
Two of three reservoirs that make up the El Chorro reservoir system. These two waters are very productive big carp and barbel waters. They lie to the north of Malaga and the fishing is free. Depths go from 2 metres (6.5 feet) along the stony shore to much deeper in the centre. These clean waters are very popular with anglers.
Although Autumn and winter offer the best fishing, these waters are quite clear in April making them quite easy to fish. During summer there are lots of small carp – use big boilies to avoid these. Guadalteba is a good lake for beginners. This lake can get can get very windy at times, when ledgering is the only realistic method.
Species and methods
• Barbel. Both reservoirs hold large barbel. Autumn and winter are best with fish responding to luncheon meat, corn and paste. Fish over a bed of hemp or groundbait for best results.
• Carp. There is a large head of carp in these waters, with fish to 10 kg (22lb) from the Gobantes area. All the normal baits will result in fish, with beans and potatoes the best. Fish with ledgered baits for best results. Lots of small fish can be had in summer, with spring producing the best fish.
• Black Bass. As with the carp, black bass are abundant in these waters. The Gobantes area is probably the most productive, with fish responding to spinners, spoons and small plugs.
• Nase. While summer can be slow for nase, the rest of the year can be very productive. They are caught on simple waggler and maggot tactics. Spray a small pouch of maggots consistently to get the fish feeding.
• Pike. Very large pike lurk in these waters, with a 16kg (35.2lb) fish recorded in 1999. Most anglers fish for these fish with lures, spoons and jerk baits. However, dead freshwater and sea fish can be very productive also.
Beach
The shore of the Guadalhorce lake is 200m from our finca. The lake is perfect for bathing and swimming. There are no wells and the access at the closest place is not steep at all - it is like a small 'laguna'. It is not a real beach, but there are very nice places without stones and low waters. There is also possibility to swim long distances, e.g. to the other shore (approx. 400 m).

We do recommend the use of a car during your stay - we will gladly help you renting a car at a reasonable price during your stay. The car is, besides transfer, also essential for shopping and excursions.
Outside
Just outside your apartment we have made a little herb garden and you are more than welcome to use a tuft of tasteful Rosemary or Oregano in your dinner. We have had the finca renovated (2007) for you to enjoy your next holidays in peaceful surroundings. In our garden you find lots of cosy places with sun chairs and benches to relax and enjoy the sun, whether you choose to be among the other guests or on your one, there is plenty of room for everyone. When the sun is shining and you need to cool down, the tempting lake is just a short walk away with its fresh and clean water to swim in. The garden has lots of wild nature and typical Spanish vegetation such as olive trees, pines and almonds which will be in blossom from January to March with the most beautiful white and pink flowers. Beds of wild flowers and vigorous plants covers the whole plot.
