The village of Villanueva del Trabuco with its many restaurants, shops and bars is a 5 min drive. There is a lovely restaurant in a converted water mill a 5 minute walk away. The beautiful towns of Archidona and Antequerra are nearby.
The nearest 'Tesco' style supermarket is only a 15 minute drive. The countryside surrounding the farm is National Park and popular with Spanish wishing to escape the hustle of the towns. Granada /malaga 40 mins. Antequerra 25 mins.Cordoba 90 mins. Seville 2 hours
There are 2 bars and restaurants approx 2km from the cottage and the village(5km) has a very good choice of banks, shops and restaurants.Other activities such as Hang gliding, motorbikehire, guidedwalking/mountainbiking, paintballing, birdwatching or Spanish lessons can all be arranged locally. Scuba diving, skiing or boat safaris to see dolphins can be arranged further afield. The village is typically Spanish and has numerous fiestas through the year where you can witness their culture first hand, with the beautiful horses and women in fiesta dresses. The source of the Guadalhorce river which flows into Malaga is situated in the mountain that appears to rise out of our garden. The water can be seen spurting out of the mountain, through the 100 pipes that have been placed there to make quite a spectacular sight. The delicious water at the farm comes straight from this mountain source. We are always on hand to ensure that your holiday goes smoothly.The landscaped gardens and pool are constantly maintained to ensure the highest standards. Every thought has been given to your comfort and enjoyment. Every improvement we have made to the farm reflects it's original character, with the use of original materials down to the last detail, whilst still giving you modern comforts. We believe the views from the farm are some of the best you will find in Spain.Horse riding is available on site but we are not a riding school and if horses are not your thing then don't worry,they don't detract from the beauty or peacefulness of the surroundings.It is a wonderful place for children,who often like to give a hand with the animals. Couples of all ages also enjoy the peace and quiet.We provide you with everything for a comfortable stay but if there is anything you require please ask.A welcome pack of basic essentials is provided to get you started.Heaters + wood burner with wood provided in cooler months, fans in summer.If you need internet access urgently you can use our facilities, there is also an internet cafe in the village.

Our daughter broke our leg shortly before the trip we so it wouldn\'t work out. But the quiet, patient and hard-working owners of Cortijoloslobos helped make this a wonderful holiday.
Much of this Cortijo was more handicapped accessible than parts of the Prado! There was something for everyone. The nearby village was very Spanish, the coast, Granada and Malaga offered more fun aspects of Spain, the mountainous landscape was unforgettably beautiful and at night when the moon set behind the mountain, the stars came out undimmed by the glare of city lights.
Animal lovers would thoroughly enjoy being on this quiet farm in the company of friendly dogs, goats and gentle horses. We absolutely loved the walks with the horses and the warm April day in the pool. We hope to be back as soon as possible and we\'ve already tried to talk most of our friends and family into going there too!

What can I say that hasnt already been said?? Charming hosts, great pool, wonderful weather, loved all the animals, the horses were brilliant. We all went riding, different abilities, but nothing fazed June and her horses. The scenery is spectacular, olive groves, streams and wonderful views at every turn. Riding in the UK will now seem really boring. We stayed in the new cottage, which was lovely. There is so much to do in this area (although you will need a car!). We went to the Alhambra in Granada - it was wonderful, would recommend you book, though. Beaches are within easy reach as are lots of interesting towns. We found that one week just wasnt enough, especially with the riding/swimming etc! Rather than me rambling on even more - just book it! Youll love it - we did! The airports of Granada and Malaga are both a very easy 40 mins drive. Granada is new to the tourist traffic and consequently a lovely small airport. It is worth checking flights as they are often cheaper. It is recommended that you hire a car. Please realise that unless you are keen walkers or cyclists, you would be quite stranded once you were here.
*Note-Airport transfers may be arranged Cortijo Los Lobos is very easy to find and accessible by tarmac roads (no annoying dusty dirt tracks).

We are a centre of natural horsemanship and our herd of 16 horses live in their family groups as they would in the wild. Fascinating to watch, whether horses are your thing or not! We also offer guided walks or mountain bike trails and bird watching. An ideal holiday for families with different interests, we give you the opportunity to all do your own thing, whilst enjoying a holiday together. Mountain bikes are available for hire. If you are not riders, please do not be put off as 50% of our clients do not even go near the horses! If you just want to relax then that is fine
Changeover day
In the summer, changeover day is Saturday, after 4pm if possible to allow for thorough cleaning and maintainance. We aks that our guests leave by 10am for the same reason. We can be flexible though, and out of peak season will consider other arrival days.
Golf
There is a popular 18 hole golf course at Antequerra, 25 mins and many others on the coast within 1 hour
Beach
The nearest beaches are a 40 min drive. There are also beautiful inland lakes with beaches within 25 mins
Ski
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is 1 hour 15 mins from the cottage. The season is usually long from beginning of December to end of April. It is great for all levels and has 80km of skiable piste. It is quite possible to ski in the morning and spend the afternoon on the beach. We use the resort ourselves and are happy to arrange guided ski excursions if required.
Accessibility
the properties are not suitable for wheelchairs due to gravelled areas, but we have had people with crutches and walking frames with no problems.
Outside
El Granero has its own patio, El Establo a private courtyard and roof terrace. Both cottages have Moroccan style tables and chairs, gas BBQs & sofas. El Establo also has sunbeds for private sunbathing. The cottages are set in colourful landscaped gardens, with a central courtyard area with large wooden table and sofas that both cottages can share if holidaying together. You feel the charm of the beautiful old farm as soon as you park on the cobbled threshing circle. The 8 x 4m pool has a 2m deep end and 1m shallow end and the area is gated for safety for small children. It is heated free of charge meaning you can swim all year round (can't guarantee in extreme cold weather), while enjoying the incredible mountain views,or simply sunbathe on the large terraces. There are parasols for shade and the sunbeds are ideal for stargazing-no light pollution makes for a stunning sky! What better way to enjoy the spectacular mountain sunsets than with a drink or meal at a table on the pool patio.
