With its subtropical climate and gorgeous un spoilt scenery it is the perfect place to enjoy outdoor pursuits, horse-riding, mountain biking, hiking etc. Or simply to get away from it all and enjoy the views, natural surroundings and tranquility.
The white hilltop villages of the Axarquia, Granada's Arabic quarter and The Alhambra Palace and the picturesque beaches of Nerja are just some of the attractions. Other recommended day trips include Malaga's Picasso museum and the wonderful tapas bars in the centro historico, the fabulous Moorish architecture of Cordoba, the hot springs at Alhama de Granada, and the lake at Beremejales and the gorgeous scenery at El Chorro Gorge. Seville, Ronda, Cordoba and Nerja are all accessible for a pleasant day trip or a relaxing night away.
There are numerous golf courses within half hours drive. Skiing is available during the winter months at the Sierra Nevada,Granada, only an hour and half drive.
Wonderful views of the Sierra Tejeda which is about a 30 minute drive.
There is a large shopping complex on the outskirts of Velez Malaga, El Ingenio. This includes a cinema, bowling alley, numerous restaurants and small outlets as well as a large Eroski supermarket.
The nearest and easiest route to the sea is to Torre del Mar, only 30 minutes by car, a little further along the coast, another 15 minutes is Nerja, we recommend a visit to the famous caves.

This large modern house offers all the requirements for a self-catering holiday. Situated in the countryside 50 minutes drive North East of Malaga Airport and only 10 minutes drive from the small town of Periana. With stunning views of the surrounding countryside and Lake Vinuela to the South, the coastal town of Torre del Mar is just a 30 minute drive.

Andalucia is the largest region in Spain, it has the warmest climate, with mild winters and hot and dry summers. There are eight provinces, which make up this region: Almeria, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Jaen, Malaga and Sevilla.
There is evidence, which shows the existence of man in Andalucia over a million years ago.
The Alhambra Palace, Granada is well worth a visit, it takes approximately 1hour and 20mins by car and you can book tickets for the palace over the internet.
A little further is Cordoba, one of our personal favourites with the beautiful gardens at ALCAZAR DE LOS REYES CRISTIANOS and the Mezquita (Holy Cathedral Church). This is a full day visit as it takes approximately 1hour and 45 minutes, again by car.
The Caves at Nerja are also a sight well worth the visit. These are a lot closer as Nerja is just a 50 minute drive from Casa Vilo, the beaches and restaurants are also nice, not typically Spanish but we can certainly recommend the Italian restaurant Vitiliano, Plaza Los Cangrejos, Nerja and you can get a reasonable Menu del dia at the Chinese restaurant, Palacio Mandarin, Avda. Mediterraneo, 1. Nerja.
Booking notes
we require a 25% deposit to be paid into a designated account, (details given when needed). The remaining monies to be paid eight weeks before arrival, if booking within the eight-week period then full payment will be expected.
Changeover day
We have a flexible changeover policy, whenever the house is available.
We do request that on day of arrival it is at 2pm local time and departure will be at 10.30 am local time.
Golf
Baviera golf is situated near Torre del Mar, 35 minute drive from Casa Vilo.
Beach
Our nearest beach is Torre del Mar which is a 30 minute drive and along from here you will find Calleta de Velez, Nerja, Maro and in the other direction towards Malaga there are many more beaches where you are sure to find a chiringito cooking sardines on the fire.
Ski
The Sierra Nevada is a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Casa Vilo and in the winter months, usually up to and including April you can ski in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon.
